Sonam Dorje Expertise: Ladakh, India

From the village of Lingshed, Sonam Dorje has been an assistant to the Buddhist monk Geshe Ngawang Jangchup, our Ladakhi host, for more than 10 years.

Sonam assists Geshe-la with all aspects of the Lingshed Area Project, which works to support the people of the Zanskar region through education, medical training, and cultural preservation. He is currently responsible for all education programs in the Lingshed valley.

During our cultural exchange programs in Lingshed, Sonam is our lead trekking guide and organizes all aspects of our stay in the village. Without his help and dedication to his people, the Journey to Ladakh program would not be possible.
